DANIEL BRIONES, GENERAL MANAGER

The entire ACE Club team is looking forward to welcoming you back to your club!

During the winter months we have been busy making several enhancements at The ACE Club. In addition to several maintenance enhancements we have brought on Garces as the restaurant and lounge operator, offering a new perspective to your club dining experience. We look forward to your return so you may experience the new all day menu at The Grille and meet the many new faces that have joined our team for this upcoming season. We are also in process of finalizing designs for enhancing the Clubhouse Lobby, the newly re-named Gary Player Boardroom and The Grille and Lounge Spaces. Look for updates to be shared with you in the coming months.

LINDA NEVATT, DIRECTOR OF GOLF

We are glad March is behind us, let’s get on with Spring.

The Golf Staff is starting to take shape with quite a few employees coming back and also new staff joining our operation. We are running the 4/3 golf ball promotion for Titleist until April 22 and the Callaway promotion until April 15. Check out the golf shop for new arrivals. We will be offering 20% off on all regrips for more than 8 clubs. This is a good time to get your clubs ready for the season.

Remember to mark your calendars for theSE upcoming golf events

We look forward to seeing everyone this month and having the golf season start finally.

JOHN CANAVAN, GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT

The summary of this spring so far has been Hurry Up and Wait!

Our seasonal golf course preparations are well under way, the brush is being picked up, the bunkers are being restored, and the playing surfaces are being groomed.

A current project we are performing on the greens is called DryJect. It is a process where a machine uses high pressure water to make a hole in the green and then kiln dried sand is injected into the hole. We are performing this process to add in firming the surface of the greens. This process allows us to get a lot more sand into the top two inches of the greens. To illustrate, we usually add 23 tons of sand to the greens after we aerify. During the DryJect process we will be adding 57 tons of sand. This will be in lieu of our spring core aerification. Happy Spring everyone!

JEFF ANDES, DIRECTOR OF MEMBER RELATIONS

As the weather turns for the better and golf season is upon us, you cannot help but to think of that prized green jacket and azaleas in bloom.

The Master’s, this year played April 5-8, is that unparalleled tournament that gets you fired up for the season. In doing a little research about this year’s tournament I found a story that says a lot about the game we play and love. Matt Parziale is a 31 year old firefighter from Brockton, Massachusetts. Matt qualified for the Master’s this year by winning the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship on the Capital City Club’s Crabapple Course in Atlanta last October. This kind of story is what really makes this sport stands out as a hardworking firefighter can make his way to Augusta.

Whether you are rooting for Matt Parziale, Phil, Tiger or whoever may be your favorite player, join us at The ACE Club to watch in between your own rounds.

Garces and our Food & Beverage Team

The Grille staff is looking forward to saying “goodbye” to the snow and “hello” to the sunshine of Spring.

With a mix of new and familiar faces, the team from Garces is taking shape and we’ve used the limited operating schedule to fine tune both our menu and service. We are thrilled to introduce John “JC” Sager to the team as our Food and Beverage Manager for Club operations, as well as Rachel Fry, our Dining Room Manager. Both are eager to start and are looking forward to a tremendous 2018 season!

Here’s a preview of the Mother Day Brunch Menu

With its magnificent windows soaring from floor to ceiling, the Clubhouse affords sweeping views of the course, and is perfect for après golf, corporate functions, family dinners and memorable events. I look forward to working with you to ensure a unique event experience!
