DANIEL BRIONES, GENERAL MANAGER

It has been a great start to this year’s season and the entire ACE Club team remains excited to serve you and your guests.

I have had the pleasure of meeting many of our members and enjoyed discussing the numerous changes that continue to occur, that impact the club. The primary intent of the improvements are to enhance your member experience. I appreciate the feedback received from various members in sharing their thoughts on the direction of the club and would like to take this opportunity in providing clarification on certain changes.

From inception of The ACE Club, there has been a corporate leadership committee. It is their vision to reestablish a direction that brings the club back to its original roots as the premier corporate and exclusive private golf club. This included reviewing membership construct, governance, staffing, capital investment plan and food & beverage.

Through this process we have established a new team to support the operation of the club, updated guidelines for National members, streamlined membership rates for new members, addressed dining offerings, and planning for capital improvements to your club. We will soon be sharing details on the renovations that are planned for The Grille and Lounge spaces, as well as, enhancements for the Gary Player Boardroom and Clubhouse lobby. A new membership Plan was also updated to reflect current club policies.

Our work is not complete as we continue to improve in all areas of the club. We will continue to update you as our work progresses. The entire ACE Club team is here to serve you. I along with our team welcome your feedback.

LINDA NEVATT, DIRECTOR OF GOLF

Let’s hope May does bring some flowers and no showers.

The golf operation is going to be continuing on this year without Corey Melnick. Corey has taken a job at Colleton River Club in SC. We wish Corey the best of luck with this new job. Mike Mitchell, our new Golf Professional has been settling in and getting to know a lot of you as you come in to play. I hope everyone has had a chance to meet Mike.

This month starts off with the first round matches of the Four Ball tournament. Good luck to everyone who signed up. Also, don’t forget to sign up for the Opening Day Scramble, May 12 and Guest Day, scheduled May 17.

New lines and products are arriving daily. Stop in to the Golf shop to check out the new arrivals. This month’s sales include:

30% OFF on Nike Shoes In stock only

30% OFF two or more clothing items

JOHN CANAVAN, GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT

Greetings from the Grounds Department! This is our busiest and favorite time of the year.

Between prepping the golf course for the season, executing our agronomic plan, recruiting and hiring staff, training them…. it is just a whirlwind of a month, the days aren’t long enough but they sure go by fast enough.

I know I am speaking the obvious here but the weather has been lagging behind compared to most years. At press time my indicators have us at 13 days behind from a weather/temperature perspective. No worries, as the days continue to lengthen and the sun angle increases we will catch up real quick. See you on the Back 9!

JEFF ANDES, DIRECTOR OF MEMBER RELATIONS

A Club’s message to the outside world is delivered on its website.

I am pleased to introduce our newly designed website with our new domain theaceclub.com. With the objective to connect our presence in both digital and print with the live golf club experience, we brought on a local graphic and web designer, Roni Lagin & Co. to design both a new web site and also to rebrand all of our marketing collateral materials.

With the debut of this website we now have a new and enhanced tool for you to navigate your member experience with features that continue to include the ability for you to book your own Tee Times and download your monthly member statements. This visually stunning website includes enhanced views of the golf course by hole, with new flyover videos coming soon. We will also highlight past member communications in our blog section and will soon start to share articles written about the game of golf. The Golf Club App will no longer be used, and instead we feature a site that is mobile device friendly, providing ease to use on any of your devises.

We hope that you are as proud of this new web site as we are and will direct your family and guests to view the new site for information about your club.

Garces and our Food & Beverage Team

We look forward to May bringing extra sunshine to welcome back everyone who has not yet played a round.

In our efforts to provide an enhanced experience during course play, the Garces team recently launched our “At the Turn” program. Simply complete the menu card available at the Golf Shop and The Grille and drop it off at the Halfway House on your way to the first tee. When you make the turn, your selections will be waiting for pickup at #9 — warm and fresh.
